Winter 2012-2013 Class Schedule now posted on the "Classes" page
Personal Best, founded and operated by veteran educators/coaches Pete Moscariello and Scott Farris, offers seminars and courses in Mental Toughness Training for individual, groups, organizations, and teams.
In the past three years, Personal Best has conducted more then 100 successful mental toughness and peak performance programs for parent groups, students, teachers, student leader groups, coaches, college and high school athletic teams.
What is Mental Toughness and Why Do We Need It?
"Mental Toughness is the ability to perform at peak levels regardless of the circumstances and conditions". Research shows that successful people in athletics, entertainment, business, the arts, and personal relationships all have one thing in common deliberate and practiced mental toughness. Talent and good fortune are not the determining factors for success. Rather, a positive attitude and the ability to stay in control of oneself and handle adversity are essential characteristics of successful, fulfilled people.
Learn How To Use Daily Mental Toughness Techniques
Personal Best’s expert instructors will teach participants proven mental toughness techniques that will give you the best chance for peak performance at school, at work, at home, and on the playing fields. Thus Personal Best will help participants develop positive and healthy life skills. Participants in the course will learn the same mental toughness techniques employed by US Olympians, top college and professional athletes, successful performers in music and the arts, and prominent businessmen/women. Each course member will be an active participant in every session, as instructors will use live demonstration and videotape to enhance learning. Participants are guaranteed to enjoy the upbeat atmosphere and positive energy created by the instructors.
In the course, you will learn how to:
* Stay relaxed and use breathing methods under pressure
* Respond to adversity
* Play your game one pitch/play/point at a time
* Focus on the process, rather than the result
* Stay in control of yourself and your emotions
* Use visualization techniques
* Use positive self-talk
* Increase your confidence
* Release negative thoughts and attitudes
* Play & Live at Peak Performance levels
* Set and accomplish goals
